Each year, we are delighted to team up with the South Shore Community Action Council (SSCAC) to support their mission of ending hunger and poverty in all towns on the South Shore. Proceeds will help SSCAC fight hunger and food insecurity among disadvantaged children, families and seniors throughout our communities! We always have a few Reds at the start line, and we'd love you to be there!

We're delighted to share another exciting opportunity to give back to our communities on the South Shore, the SSCAC Backpack Food For Kids Inititaive. With the help of Liverpool International Academy, last years "Fill the Backpack" drive collected nearly 1000 pounds (789 to be exact) of food to be delivered to children and families along the South Shore.
For many children, the food they receive at school is their only meal of the day. To help fight children’s hunger outside of school hours, SSCAC's Backpack Food for Kids Initiative partners with teachers, administrators, and PTAs at 11 elementary schools in Plymouth and Middleborough. Last year, 419 school children received backpacks of food each Friday to ensure they had enough to eat during weekends and school vacations.
We hope to bring even more food to these families this year, and need your support! More details of our drive will be announced soon, but you may click here for information about SSCAC and their ongoing initiative.
